HOW TO ORDER FROM RANCH POTTERY
A Shop Update is when I release new pottery on my website:
👉 ranchpottery.ca That is my only storefront.
If I had a physical store, this would be the moment I:
- Put new inventory on the shelves
- Open the doors
- Let customers come in and shop
Â
Since I don’t have a physical store, my website is my store.
So instead of unlocking a door…  I make the website live for purchasing.
That moment = Shop Update
You can also think of it as:
- New inventory drop
- Collection release
- Restock
- Store opening
Â
All mean the same thing.
Â
Â
WHY DOES EVERYTHING SAY SOLD OUT?
Ranch Pottery is a one-woman studio in Canada. Every piece is handmade by me from start to finish.
Because of the time and labour involved:
- Work is made in small batches
- Everything is sold during Shop Updates only
- Pieces often sell out within minutes or seconds
Â
There is:
- No ongoing inventory
- Nothing held back
- Nothing available between updates
Â
Â
Â
Â
HOW THE PROCESS WORKS
- I spend 3–5 weeks making everything by hand
- Once ready, I upload everything to my website a couple days in advance of the shop update.Â
-
The website will show items as “sold out”
- This is the Preview
- You can browse and see pricing
- I announce a specific date and time on my social media
- At that time, inventory is activated
Â
That is the Shop Update (when you can actually buy)
Â
Â
PREVIEWÂ
Before each Shop Update, I offer a short Preview period.
Â
During preview:
- You can see all available pieces
- You can see pricing
- Everything will show as sold out (this is intentional)
You cannot purchase during preview.
Â
Preview exists because you can’t walk into a store and browse in person—this is your chance to look ahead.
Â
Â
HOW TO PURCHASE
The only way to buy is through a Shop Update.
I do not offer:
• Custom orders
• Pre-orders
• Holds
• Waitlists
• Private sales
Everything is first come, first served when the shop goes live.
Â
Â
PRICING
I do not post pricing on social media or reply to “how much”
Pricing is only available during the Preview on my website once pieces are completed and listed.
Â
Â
SHIPPINGÂ
I am one person doing everything—making, packing, and shipping.
Packaging pottery is time-consuming and very detailed because I need to ensure your pieces arrive safely without breaking.
After a Shop Update:
- There are often 70–100 items to pack
- Each item is individually wrapped and boxed
- This must fit around my production schedule
Â
👉 Shipping can take up to 2–3 weeks
You will not receive a shipping notification right away, and that is normal.
I am not Amazon. This is handmade production at scale by one person.
Â
Â
LOCATION + SHIPPING LOGISTICS
I live in a rural area, and for U.S. shipments:
- It is about an hour drive to my courier drop-off location
- I batch shipments together to make that trip
Â
This is why everything must be fully packed before I can ship.
Â
Â
WHERE I SHIP
I ship within:
- Canada
- United States
Â
For U.S. customers:
- Duties or brokerage fees may apply
- These are not controlled by me
- I include CUSMA documentation, but fees are never guaranteed to be avoided
Â
Â
Â
Â
RETURNS
All sales are final.
Each piece is handmade and one of a kind.
Natural variations in glaze and finish are part of the work.
Dishwasher safe
Â
Â
STUDIO / STOREFRONT
- I do not have a physical store
- My studio is not open to the public, do not ask!Â
- Ranch Pottery is online only
Â
Â
Â
Â
